Paytm is paying a price for its sudden stardom
An interesting summary (ironically, the piece itself lacks one!) of the troubles of an Indian Startup that saw a massive Uptick in it’s user base last month. I doubt it’d have been any different for any other online service, if a government decision of this scale would have impacted (positively) their user base.
My experience with PayTM has been less than ideal. Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve seen multiple failed transactions and “something went wrong” messages. PayTM itself has been on a snail’s ride. PayTM’s servers just don’t seem ready to handle the traffic that they’ve been receiving.
I’m much more concerned about how secure PayTM’s transactions are and I’d like to know more about their privacy policy, their current statement mentions absolutely nothing about sharing personal information with third parties (including the government) or the anonymity of data that they collect.
