Real art takes time, painstaking effort, and perseverance. Generative AI cannot replace the journey. None of LookUp's Words of the Day are AI Generated nor will they ever be.
These are LookUp's Word of the Day images. I have designed them with painstaking effort, one every-day for nearly 10 years now.
Each Word of the Day has been illustrated with care, crafting digital illustrations, picking the right typography that conveys the right emotion.
Some words contain images, these images are painstakingly shot, edited and crafted into a Word of the Day graphic by me.
Real art takes time, effort and perseverance. The process is what makes it valuable.

As generative AI becomes more and more popular, some people mistake AI for being capable of replacing artistic expression, or capable of replacing artists. That's complete bullshit. AI may "generate" utterly derivative, plagiaristic art, but it cannot replace the thought and care that artists put into their work.
Some of LookUp's users have wondered if LookUp too will introduce AI generated images like some of its competitors. I think the answer is pretty evident by now. There's no replacing the effort put into crafting these Words of the day. They'll continue to be AI free.
